The Tres Rare Paul Giraud Cognac is an expert combination of Ugni blanc, folle blanche, and colombard grapes distilled in small batch copper pot stills. But the aging is simply remarkable — this exceptionally old example of French tradition has aged in those special cellars for an average of forty years. It is blended until perfection using pure vintage Cognac and not blending from different years.
This drink is in a league far beyond comparison with Extra Vieux 25 years, truly in a class of its own [Bar Jam]
I've had Paul Giraud's 25-year-old a few times at bars and even bought it for home consumption. However, this 35-year-old is truly in a class of its own compared to the 25-year version. It was genuinely delicious. Although the 35-year-old comes with a higher price tag, I thought it was worth every penny. Hopefully, I'll come across it at a more affordable price somewhere (^_^).
