Enchanted by the rich aroma of grapes [Oumigenji]

In a tucked-away corner of Kabukicho, there's a little-known gem called "Omi Genji." Intrigued, I decided to order a red wine for pairing with meat dishes . At first, I was captivated by its beautiful crimson color and the intense, youthful aroma of grapes. While I wasn't expecting too much sweetness from the scent, it turned out just as I anticipated – light but not too delicate, a well-balanced wine. It complemented the meal, adding color without being overpowering. It went down smoothly. Considering its affordable price for at-home consumption, I thought it might be a splendid choice to accompany a luxurious meat dish when indulging in home dining.
While we were engrossed in the conversation about Omi beef, the flow of the discussion led the proprietress and then the master of Omi Genji to join in turn.
The master mentioned that he has been researching various red wines that pair well with Omi beef. It was a valuable lesson – red wine indeed complements meat. It was a memorable year-end in 2023.
