It is a prestigious premium beer born in Thailand in 1933, recognized by the royal family. Brewed from the first press, the beer has a unique and rich flavor, offering a balanced spicy taste typical of Asian style. It continues to be loved as an item that enhances an elevated mood, sometimes adding a touch of glamour to the atmosphere.
The first time I drank Singha beer was... in Phuket long long ago, I think? My impression at the time was... "I expected it to balance out the relentlessly spicy Thai food, but the food was even spicier (it was painful)." I had it again recently, but it was drier than I remembered. I couldn’t really taste the subtle sweetness or richness that some people describe within the bitterness. But it’s easy to drink, and I think it suits hot climates well. I’d like to try it with the unforgiving Thai food that’s meant for the locals.
