It is easy to drink [Piano Bar Sen no Tsubo]

The fruity notes and subtle sweetness were really pleasant—so easy to drink.

The bar where you can drink while watching nostalgic clips from the Showa-era pop songs was packed, so we ended up coming to this piano bar instead. It’s a little hard to find since it’s tucked away from the station, but inside it’s cozy and has a great atmosphere. They even play piano accompaniment live to match karaoke singing—my first time experiencing that.
We sang songs by Hamada Shogo and Sawada Kenji, didn’t we?
Toward the end of the night, I sang “Yoru no Gingitzune”—a song I somehow memorized as a kid from hearing my dad practice it on a karaoke machine at home. That brought back memories.
Later on, when I had started drinking whisky with my dad and told him, “I don’t know why, but I really like this song,” he replied, "Yeah, but It’s a song about a self-indulgent man."
I took a closer look at the lyrics and thought, Ah… I see. It’s basically a song about a man openly indulging in his very “manly” desire—to make a beautiful, familiar hostess his mistress and keep her in a small apartment. How envi—no, no… outrageous! What a scandalous song.

Still, there’s something about the combination of the lyrics and the melody that just works.
