SLYRS Bavarian Single Malt Whisky AGED 18 YEARS

A smooth and full-bodied German whisky aged for 18 years. It opens with a rich and complex aroma of dried fruits layered with caramel and honey. On the palate, an enticing harmony of spicy vanilla, caramel, and almonds unfolds, leading into a long, pleasantly oily finish of dried fruits with a delicate hint of nutmeg.

We got to enjoy this whisky again this year. [PACIFICO YOKOHAMA Exhibition Hall D]

We paid for a tasting of it at last year’s whisky festival as well. This year, I tried it again properly in a tasting glass. I think I was able to appreciate it more than last year. No matter how good a whisky is, there’s no way you can fully enjoy its delicate aromas and flavors in a small plastic cup.
Just like last year, it really felt like I was drinking a properly crafted, high-quality whisky. That said, the price is insanely high—about ¥60,000 for a bottle. It’s even more expensive than The Macallan 18 Years Old Sherry Oak, which is kind of crazy. Well, I guess it comes down to personal preference. If it were a bit more reasonably priced, I’d definitely want a bottle for home drinking.
