KIZAKURA TANBA Single Malt 100th Anniversary CASK STRENGTH

This is a special limited-edition blended whisky, “Tanba Single Malt,” released to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kizakura Co., Ltd.. It is primarily composed of spirit matured in Pedro Ximénez casks, known for their rich sweetness, and is expertly vatted with whiskies from Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks, then bottled at cask strength. The blend also includes a commemorative cask from the very first distillation batch (“Batch No. 1”) produced in 2018, when whisky production began. The result is a luxurious and elegant limited release, offering a rich and vibrant aroma.

The youthful, somewhat assertive aroma isn’t bad at all. Though still young, the straightforward flavor was quite pleasant. With more years of maturation, it seems to have plenty of potential to develop into a truly outstanding whisky.
