So many bars, so many drinks

The GLENLIVIET 12 YEARS OLD -Bot.1970s-

Sorry Daddy! I made a great mistake. I misunderstood he had drunk "current 12 years old" many times at bars. [Cask Dor]

As I mentioned at "Welcome Page", I misunderstood my father's experience in drinking whisky at bar when he was young[From 1960s to1990s was his golden age]. He said he mainly drank 12 Years Old Glenlivet at bars and and little opportunity to drink much older bottle. And I thought he drank "just" 12 years old bottle. But The Glenlivet 12 years at 70s cannot be explained by the word "Just 12 years old". After having drinking this 12 years old bottled at late 70s, I realized that "I had no idea that my daddy's golden age was also golden age for whisky lover".

Aroma: I could not find anything in common between this bottle and current 12 years. The "volume" was quite different. I could not feel such volume from current 12 years. And I felt smell of cold medicine for children and scent of mint. it was so good that I could enjoy its aroma for a long time.

Taste: Once I took a sip I felt "Yes! This is GLENLIVET I had already drunk". And I felt I was drinking good whisly at cellar. That means .. so to speak "Rancio" smell spread in my mouth. and I could not feel its taste was very sweet. It was modest. Anyway .... I wish I time-traveled into 70s with enough money! Oh no! I would not be able to use current Japanese Yen at 70s. Those who lived in 70s did not accept my VISA card neither (;_;).

I drank this 12 Years Old again. [Cask Dor]

Last time I drank this old GLENLIVET 12 Years Old -bottled 70s- And I wanted to drink this again and I did. The owner bartender kindly gave me current 18 years too in order to compare OLD GLENLIVET and CURRENT GLENLIVET. The impression was ...... OLD GLENLIVET was brilliant. If you have chance to compare current GLENLIVET with OLD GLENLIVET, you may feel "Why current GLENLIVET was weak than OLD GLENLIVET? (-_-;"

3rd time! [Cask Dor]

This is 3rd time to drink this GLENLIVIET (released at 70s). The reason was that I wanted to make chart for this marvelous whisky. This whisky is great but for me it is difficult to make flavor chart from my memory. So this time I brought chart paper with me and also obtained great coordination from the owner bartender. From his words I got useful expression for chart! Thank you very much!

How are you, Master? [Cask Dor]

Because of COVID-19, I could not enjoy to drink at bars in Tokyo. But recently the Japanese government decided to lift the state of emergency for Tokyo, Kanagaw and Saitama. So I decided to visit Cask Dor in Shibuya. Master was fine. Shibuya was relatively uncrowded. I ordered this Glenlivet 12 years for first round. I enjoyed its deep and mellow taste .

This is 5th time! [Cask Dor]

This is 5th time I have this rich and mellow GLENLIVETT 12 Years -70s-

I drank this for the first time in a long time. [Cask Dor]

I love this faint and sophisticated aroma, which makes me feel 'the cellar', 'the past' and so on.
