A very rare Bowmore Moonlight 25 Years Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky with the old Seagull label in the blue Buchan ceramic bottle as 75cl bottling for the US market. Nicknamed the Moonlight the rather pretty blue ceramic bottle and box, this 25 year old Bowmore appeared in the mid 1990s and has achieved almost mythic status itself, being made up entirely of long-aged casks from the legendary 1960s vintages. A magnificent dram, bursting with rich tropical flavours - one of the all-time and very rare classics from the Bowmore distillery.

I have already drunk Bowmore 12Y, 18Y, 16Y limited(1989), VAULT edition, Devil's cask, 21Y port cask, Mizunara Cask. And I felt this special Bowmore 25 Years and others had nothing in common. Actually this one seems to be Bowmore but its well-balance flavor was outstanding. Not too smoky, not too light, no too sweet, not too unique.... l love current 12 years old. Its taste and price is good. In a sense, it is "Well-balanced". I have regarded 12 years can be the face of Bowmore. But once I know this beautiful Good Old Bowmore, I think this one must be regarded as the face of Bowmore, though its is impossible for the vast majority of whisky lovers to drink its sophisticated taste today.

I met this very tempting Scotch whisky at Bar in Aoyama. I thought it was quite hard to meet this bottle at other bars because this bottle was quite rare. But about 2 weeks later I met this attractive bottle again at Bar in Shibuya.

Rummy: "... ao I really enjoyed that rare Bowmore 25 years Old. I think I should try Old Good Bowmore,"
Master: "Well ... You are taking about this .."
- He turned around backbar and put one bottle in front of me. It was the bottle I was talking. 'Night Fly'.
Rummy: "Yes! This one! This bottle. I love this!"

And I drank this marvelous whisky again. So nice. I really enjoyed its mellow sweet taste. A kind of 'Art'. Lovely!

I was really impressed with its deep and mellow taste that might come from long-term Maturation in gorgeous cask with gentle carte. Basically I think the current Bowmore 12 yrs and 18 Years is good. But if you want to know the " Good Old Days" of Bowmore, you should try this wonderful bottle at any cost.
