Good old high ball [Cask Dor]
Basically I am doing my job at home after Covid-19 Alert. but I seldom go to office and do my job there. And this time I visited Bar Cask-for after work finished. At tat time I felt I was thirsty, I ordered 'HighBall'. But soon I remembered the face that this bar is famous of 'OLD bottle'. I had some opportunities to see some guest who had highball with old malt or old blended whisky. It might be a bit expensive. And .. I thought it was waste to drink such good old whisky with soda. But I was also interested in such luxurious highball. So I said to the master.
Rummy: "I want to drink highball with relatively cheap old whisky."
Master: "Well ... how about 'Johnnie Walker RED Label or Black Label'?"
(Note : Both oof them were produced in 1980's. As you see 'Old Black Label' do not have '12 years notation')
Rummy: "Black.. I want to to have it neat. Red one please."
And I had highball with 'Johnnie Walker RED Label'. The impression was 'So-good' Very smooth, not too light. Well-balanced highball. It is good idea to drink a bit luxurious highball at first round at Bar if you find 'OLD red label' at backbar.
