Once I drank Laphroaig 10 Yrs at one bar, I decided that was last time to order Laphroaig at bars. Time passed to my Xth birthday, one of my bad friends gave one whisky bottle neatly wrapped for my birthday. When he gave it to me, he said "You must be surprised and be happy." I was excited and expected the bottle would be Macallan 18 yrs... no too expensive, Taketsuru 21 yrs or the Glenlivet 18 yrs???(=^0^=). After unwrapping "birthday present", I was very surprised and felt depressed. That was Laphroaig 18 yrs. I asked him "Why did you bother to buy this?" He replied "The article at one web site about whisky said this is outstanding whisky! So I selected this for you! Are You happy?(^0^)". "(-_-)....-[Yes this is an "outstanding" islay whisky. I know that!]- " That bottle had remained at my liquor shelf for four months. This "record" will not be broken.
Note: Very vintage, rare or expensive bottles have remained more than four months..Ex The GLENLIVET 25 Yrs, Miyagikyo 12 yrs, Royal Household, The GLENLIVET 21 yrs....
Smell:Discordance, real joodtinctuur smell leaked from assembled medicine shelf.
Taste:After bearing with very complicated smoky and chemical smell, the strong alcohol is changed to sweet taste but still complicated and is dressed with chemical taste.
