The Tsingtao Brewery was founded by The Anglo-German Brewery Co. Ltd., an English-German joint stock company based in Hong Kong who owned it until 1916. The brewery was founded on August 15, 1903 as the Germania-Brauerei (Germania Brewery) .
I always drink this beer when I eat dinner at Chinese Reataurants. [Juukei hanten Bekkan]
I love this beer and I think this taste does match Chinese foods except very hot plate,,ex Szechuan style spicy tofu.
It’s been a while since I drank, ever since that peeing incident… [Juukei hanten Honkan]
I used to really like this brand, and I was also interested in its history—how, after the First Sino-Japanese War and the Triple Intervention forced Japan to return the Liaodong Peninsula, Germany occupied the area around Qingdao as a leased territory, built a brewery there, and that eventually became Tsingtao Beer. But after that peeing video incident… I was really disappointed. I even remembered an economic TV news program showing that back then, the Chinese CEO or chairman would actually drink the product every day to check its quality. It was especially sad news because trust is so important in manufacturing related to the food and beverage industry. Thinking of that, I nervously had this beer again for the first time in a while. Ah, it still tastes like I remembered, but… it’s a bit complicated, isn’t it? Well, even in Japan, there are sometimes idiots on social media, so it’s not really someone else’s problem. Whether they’re part-time workers or full-time employees, employers have to assume the worst when hiring. It’s kind of sad.
