So many bars, so many drinks

NIKKA MIYAGIKYO 15 YEARS OLD

This is a single malt from the Miyagikyo distillery, Nikka's second distillery built in 1969. The founder Masataka Taketsuru chose this site in the mountains of Sendai to contrast with his first distillery, Yoichi, located in the coastal area. Using less peaty malt and distilled in a pot still heated by indirect steam, Miyagikyo single malt has an elegant fruitiness and a distinctive aroma with a strong Sherry cask influence.

Reach Beyond other Japanese whisky's Boundaries [BAR Garasha]

I had chance to tried drinking NIKKA MiYAGIKYO 15 Years [very very rare malt now] at Bar Garasya in Shibuya. I compared this with non vintage or non-aged Miyagikyo at the same time. And result is ... 15 years was really mellow and full-bodied. You may think 15 years is beautiful and sophisticated actress and non-aged is her cute niece. Unfortunately it is quite hard to find the bars you can drink this 15 years.

Really? Can I drink that Miyagikyo 15 years here? [Secret hideaway]

Many years ago, Nikka decided to stop selling aged [10 Yrs, 12 Yrs, 15 Yrs] Miyagikyo. But here I could see 12 and 15 years. I was really surprised. In some bar its costs a lot or bartender hide them to customer. Only limited good customer can drink them because for bartenders it is very difficult to get them again. So I was very lucky!
