Very limited MIYAGIKYO which can be purchased at Miyagikyo Distillery only. The 2000's is a rare blend of malt whiskies distilled Miyagikyo Distillery between 2000 and 2009 and bottled at 57% abv.

This is a single malt from the Miyagikyo distillery, Nikka's second distillery built in 1969. The founder Masataka Taketsuru chose this site in the mountains of Sendai to contrast with his first distillery, Yoichi, located in the coastal area. Using less peaty malt and distilled in a pot still heated by indirect steam, Miyagikyo single malt has an elegant fruitiness and a distinctive aroma with a strong Sherry cask influence.

Before I tried drinking this strong and limited whisky, I thought this would be inferior to others aged Miyagikyo, ex 10 yrs, 12 Yrs and 15 yrs. But once I tasted this, I thought my estimation was wrong. Excellent taste make me excited! And fortunately when I purchased this limited Miyagikyo 2000's. I had already got Miyagikyo 12 Yrs. So I compared those whiskies at my home. And, believe it or not, my conclusion was "Miyagikyo 2000's is virtually the same as Miyagikyo 12 Yrs" That was a surprise. Well, if you have chance to see those excellent whiskies at bars, please compare them for yourself at any cost.
